We want to take a minute to introduce the new Stratics In-Game Community Toolset that we're making available to the Stratics community completely free. Below you will find out how to download the new tools and information on how we're trying to improve your gaming experience.
We've been busy working with PLAYXPERT to deliver a totally unique experience for you while you play the games you love. This new technology allows you to use gamer-inspired tools without the need to alt-tab. Now for those of you with dual monitors, this is already an option. But for the majority of users out there this will be a new luxury, allowing you to surf the web, chat with friends, listen to music and even kill process's all while still in-game.
We have built these Stratics Community tools just for you.
DOWNLOAD HERE
The hand-picked widgets that will come standard for our users:
- Universal chat across all major chat IM tools (Yahoo, Xfire, Windows Live, ICQ, AIM, Gtalk)
- Pandora for your music listening pleasure while you're raiding or grinding in-game (Pandora has a US only restriction)
- Web browser widget so you can access the stratics news, reviews and even your guild pages while in-game and
- Switchblade so you can test playing your favorite games with a Xbox 360 controller.
- GoogleGadgets – Allows the user access to the wealth of Google Gadgets in-game
- Notepad – Gives the user the ability to use the Notepad application in-game to take notes for quests, locations, etc.
*The technology works on XP and Vista but the in-game overlay system will not be available to Vista users until January. Take note – the updater will auto-upgrade your vista version when the in-game support is added.*

Mythic Entertainment Decks the Halls of WAR with the Start of the Keg End Live Event

Warhammer General News - Dec 17, 2008 7:01 PM PST | Posted by _zigzag_

The Dwarf New Year celebration of Keg End has officially begun and the festivities in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning are in full swing! The forces of Order and Destruction are now invited to join a Realm-wide pub crawl across the Old World as the Dwarfs drain their old barrels and casks in hopes of good fortune and better brews in the New Year.
Of course, holidays in WAR are never just for celebrating, and this one is no exception. Ogres have been drawn out of hiding by the scent of beer and blood, and those who challenge them in combat may be rewarded with special Keg End loot. Snotlings have also been discovered in ale stores across the world, and the special brews they've snatched could prove extremely useful for Order and Destruction players alike.
Even more incredible are stories popping up about the legendary Golden Stein, a powerful relic that bestows the blessings of Grimnir himself on whoever possesses it. Rumors say that it's been spotted on battlefields across the Old World, but only the daring and dedicated will be able to unravel its mysteries as the New Year approaches.
Light your fireworks and /toast a friend, because Keg End has begun and the WAR rages on! Learn more about the Keg End live event at www.warhammeronline.com.

If you are pretty active in WAR, tome unlocks are second nature to you. After playing WAR for a while, you practically have a encyclopedia on the game with the press of a button. If you have ever gotten frustrated with where to go to unlock some of the more tricky entries, Shrewd of Ostermark aims to not only help you, but make sure it never happens again.
Here is an interview with Shrewd about his ToK database, along with the actual database and how to help contribute to it.

I would like to congratulate Order players of Volkmar for pushing into the Raven God's territory. Best of luck to all of you in locking it down!
Around 6:30AM Eastern Time Volkmar's Order players captured the Inevitable City, but had the timer expire on the pillaging phase. Once again, hats off to the players that made this possible. Keep up the great work!

The Ironbreaker is up for this week's interview. Alkterrandorn of Halcyon Affinity (Volkmar) was kind enough to sit down and talk to us about the Ironbreaker, it's abilities as a tank and a DPS, and also some guild-babble. If you're an Ironbreaker looking to pick up some tips on tanking and take a glimpse at an end-game spec, this article is for you.

One month and 750,000+ players later, WAR is not only here, but it has successfully established itself as an MMO worth all the buildup and buzz. As players advanced their character and renown ranks and pushed their invasions to the enemy capital, seasoned veterans and fresh recruits alike were scrambling to learn the ins, outs, strategy and savvy it takes to assert themselves at the elite to beat of the realm.
Mythic has done a superb job in making the learning curve for WAR enjoyable for all types of gamers, namely with the battle silhouette, fully customizable interface, and varied combat environments. This however, does not mean everyone has mastered this intricate game. In this reoccurring feature, Stratics hopes to pinpoint and simplify hints into a "field manual" of sorts to help players better handle the many circumstances of WAR. We encourage RvR Vets and FNGs alike to browse, discuss, and improve not only these guides, but the competition in WAR itself.
